Make a Memory Scrapbooking Kit Ideas!

Did you know that Stampin' Up! has added a scrapbooking kit to their Kits Collection?  Well, they did and it is called Make a Memory Scrapbooking Kit! I love to get more bang for my buck and I have found that the scrapbooking kits from Stampin' Up! give me just that; this kit doesn't disappoint in that area.  This kit has so much to play with that you can create both cards and scrapbook pages with it.  Here is a list of what you get with this one kit:

• 12 - 12" x 12" pattern card stock
• 20 - 6" x 4" pattern cards (think Memories & More)
• 3 - 12" x 12" sheets of ephemera pieces
• 4 - 12" 12" sticker pages 1 is leaves and the other 3 are sentiments (1 English, 1 German and 1 French)
• 2 - 12" x12" card stock borders you can cut to any width or length you choose

During my Teach it Tuesday with Tammy & Jennie I shared with my viewers how to follow the directions, well almost (I did go a little rogue) to create a scrapbook page as well as use some of the pieces of the kit to create a beautiful, but simple card.

DIY Two Tone Cardstock Gift Box

 A couple of weeks ago late one night I found myself needing a couple of small boxes for some scones I was giving to two co-workers.  It was the end of the school year and the end of my long term substitute job.  As a small group we loved snacking and so I made some of my lemon blueberry scones.  So what did I do at 9:00 pm?  I perused Pinterest of course!  I found this fun box by Holly of Ribbons & Glue.  When I make the boxes I used some of my retired pattern paper but a few days ago I thought, "How fun would it be to stamp my own pattern on the two-tone card stock?"  In my opinion the two-tone card stock worked better because it is a bit sturdier than the pattern paper.  

This box uses almost an entire piece of 12" x 12" card stock with very little waste.  And with the way I made this box I was able to use a piece of the scrap for the tag which means even less waste! My kind of project. :) 

You can use any 12" x 12" paper; pattern paper, card stock or the two-tone card stock which in terms of weight falls between the regular DSP and the card stock. 

Basic supplies for the box:

• 12" x 12" paper (pattern paper, two-tone card stock or regular card stock)
• Score at 3" & 9" along one side then turn once and score again at 1", 3 1/2", 6 1/2" and 9"
• Tear & Tape
• Scoring/Cutting Tool

    * Tip if you are using directional patter paper make sure your 1" score line is at the bottom of the paper.

 * Tip - To get the overlapped image you will need to fold the top and bottom flaps according to the steps below before stamping. See steps/images below.

P.S.  the images below are from a box that I accidently smeared ink on and therefore started over. 

Step #1 - Make sure your 12" x 12" is laying with the inside of the box facing up with the 1" score mark at the top and the 9" at the bottom. 

Step #2 - Fold up at the 9" score line.

Step #3 - Fold down at the 3" score line.

Kintsugi Mojo

 What do you get when you combine my new favorite suite, Kintsugi Inspirations, and a Mojo card sketch?  You get my creation for Teach it Tuesday with Tammy & Jennie on June 3rd.  

This is such a classic and elegant suite but what really drew me to it was those blues!  OH M GEEEE! I love, love, love the blues with Petal Pink.  The sketch that Tammy and I used is also amazing!  

Check these two versions of the same sketch and suite.  I did almost the exact same thing with both cards just changed up the vases.  Let me know which card you like the one with the two bowls or the one with the bowl and tall vase?  

Details:

• Card base:  8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
• Layer #1: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" (used embossing folder)
• Layer #2: 3" x 4 1/2"
• Layer #3: 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" 
• Layer #4: 4" x 4" (stamped images then die cut out)
• Layer #5: 2 1/2" x 1/2" used for sentiment
• Layer #6: 1" x 1" (cut flag/banner)
• Interior: 4" x 5 1/4"
