Handmade & Heartfelt Cards

For everything there is a season and right now I am moving into a season of crafting on the road and in small spaces.  My husband will be retiring soon and we just purchased a 5th wheel so that we can travel the US!  One way I am going to keep up with my card making while we travel is through kits!  They are self contained all inclusive.  I could pack two or three kits and be set.  If I wanted to take a few extras I could pack some inks and card stock that coordinates so I am able to design alternative cards using the kits.  I have a lot to choose from (see picture below) and I have also just purchased the two new September 2025 kits; Handmade & Heartfelt and Road To Christmas (currently unavailable but WILL be returning).  Here are the kits I currently have to choose from! Which ones will I be taking!? 

This week Tammy and I wanted to share with you during our Teach it Tuesday the Handmade & Heartfelt card kit. There are a couple of reasons we chose this kit. First, Stampin' Up! will be featuring this kit during their World Card Making Day online event, Saturday October 4th.  You can sign up for this event between now and Friday, October 3rd. Second, we are excited that this kit has more than just cards, it has a great organizer that can be used for cards or something else (check out Tammy's YouTube video).

Card #1

Used the provided supplies in the kit to make the card as designed by Stampin' Up!

Card #2 - Alternate for Card #1

Card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Soft Sea Foam card stock

Layer #1: Layer of Crumb Cake with circle from kit (used with banner card)

Layer #2: Floral spray from kit

Charming Color Combo

Color combinations are always so fun! Tammy and I wanted to challenge ourselves using the following colors: Berry Burst, Pecan Pie, Pretty Peacock, & Secret Sea!  Man was it a challenge but I just love the results!  I hope you do too!  

This card definitely is fancier and more detailed than I usually make and I have to admit I loved it.   

Here are the details for the card:

• Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
• Layer #1: 4" x 5 1/4"
• Layer #2: 1 7/8" x 5 1/8"  (2 pieces of pattern paper)
• Layer #3: 4" x 1 3/4" 
• Layer #4: 1 1/2" x 3 3/4" (after applies dies you will cut this into 4 pieces)
• Layer #5: 2" x 2" square for sentiment
• Embossing feature: 4 1/4" x 3 1/2" with adhesive sheet on the back
• Interior: 4" x 5 1/4" 
• Embellishments: 13" ribbon & gems

I share with you in the video how I made the embossed layer of Secret Sea leaves as well as tips for cutting it into 4 pieces. (Please excuse the math problem! LOL)

Peaceful Garden Crossover Gate Fun Fold

I love learning new to me fun folds that are simple but look difficult! Of course I went to my favorite resource of ideas...Pinterest!  So many fun cards to choose from! A fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Kathi Ondus, shared the fun fold I chose to make today.  However, I did decide to make a few tweaks!

For this card I chose to use items from the Peaceful Gardens Suite; I used the Peaceful Garden DSP, Peace on Earth bundle & Peaceful Greenery 3D embossing folder.  When I created the original card I chose the pattern paper with the white background and Misty Moonlight leaves.  As much as I love that pattern I realized that I wanted my pattern paper to have the Secret Sea background with pops of white.  Doing this makes it "pop" on the panels.  

This was my first card!

Card Details:

• Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8" (watch my video for a tip on scoring this card base)
• Layer #1: 4" x 5 1/4" 
• Layer #2: 1 1/2" x 4" card stock (3 pieces)
• Layer #3: 1 1/4" x 3 3/4" pattern paper (3 pieces)
• Layer #4: 3" x 2 1/2" White card stock for Dove

Twist on Triple Time with Snowflakes

While playing with the Snowy Delight decorative masks I had this vision of using the Triple Time technique but with a twist. So I hope you enjoy this twist on a fun technique.

Card Details:

• Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
• Layer #1: 4" x 5 1/4" white card stock
• Layers #2-#5:  8 1/2" x 11" white card stock (die cut out 4 layers)
• Interior: 4" x 5 1/4" white
